About Money Matters
Hi, I'm David Harper the founder of the Money Matters Network; a financial economist and a registered investment adviser that started in the financial industry 18 years ago.
We have worked with people from a wide variety of financial backgrounds, doing Estate Planning for large estates, retirement planning for a wide variety of clients, business planning and business succession planning, becoming your own banker planning and a host of other "economic" techniques with a wide range of client backgrounds. I have found that no matter what the background the overwhelming cause of financial problems is "financial illiteracy". Utilizing the science of economics which is based on safety I have tried to increase the "financial literacy" of everyone I come in contact with.
Think about the following quote, "If the majority were right, the majority would be wealthy" however, this is not true and in fact based on the statistic that out of 100 people in the same age group, at age 65 only 5 are financially solvent. If the majority were right that should be 95% not 5%, the process that the majority is following is a failed system. By utilizing economics I seek to change the thought process of everyone I meet with, and show them that there is a better way, and it does not mean you have to take crazy risk, in fact most economic concepts are based on safety.

Well we are on the eve of the big day!
I hope you all are ready in time,
and you get to bed at a reasonable time.
I will be going to bed early and getting
up at around 3 am and spend Christmas in
New Jersey with my fiancee and his family.
It will be the 1st Christmas away from mine :-(
Please pray as I know it will bother me
to change my holiday traditions.
The reason why we are doing it this way,
is my family can not all be together on Christmas
day this year. We decided to hold our Christmas
on New Years Day. We are not big partiers for
New Years so this will work fine. :-)

Well it is snowing here for the first time this season.
I love the first snow,and I love it for Christmas Day.
The day after Christmas I am all set LOL!
I start looking for Spring,,, I know what a wierd one I am :-)

Have you heard about the horrible
ice storm that hit the northeast?
Many people in the area are without power.
I was without power for 23 hours,
which I am thankful to have a woodstove!
Many people do not have any type of
backup heat source anymore. :-(
My daughter, who lives in southern Maine,
had to pack up and come here with her 2
sons last night, as it was going to be the
coldest night of the season so far.
Please say a prayer that power will
be restored soon, as I am sure there
are people that are in very cold homes. :-(
